Privacy policy
Impresario does not collect, store on any server, or share your personal information. There are no accounts, ads, analytics or tracking. Your music stays on your device unless you choose to share it.
1. What the app uses on your device
- Camera: used only to scan sheet music pages. Scans are never uploaded.
- Microphone: used only by the tuner, to hear the note you play and show whether it is in tune. The sound is analyzed on your device as it is played. It is never recorded, saved or sent anywhere.
- Files you choose: the app reads only the PDFs and photos you pick in the Files app, including files in iCloud Drive or Google Drive that appear there.
- Text recognition: titles, composers and instruments are read using Apple’s text recognition, which runs on your device.
- Your library: parts are saved as PDFs on your device, or in the folder you choose in the Files app.
- Pencil markings and settings: stored with your library, on your device or in the folder you choose in the Files app. Your own categories, instruments and name corrections are kept there too.
- iCloud Drive sync (optional): if you choose an iCloud Drive folder for your library, your parts, markings and settings sync through your own iCloud account. They are not sent to me.
- Bluetooth page turners: you connect these in your iPad’s Settings, where they work like a keyboard. The app only receives the key presses that turn the page.
2. What I collect
Nothing. The app does not send me your music, scans, markings, names, location, contacts or device identifiers. It contains no advertising and no third-party tracking.
3. Sharing and exporting
Files leave your device only when you choose to share or export them, for example by AirDrop, Mail, the Files app or a cloud service. Once a file is sent, the service you sent it to handles it under its own privacy policy.
4. Services you choose to use
iCloud Drive, Google Drive and the Files app are run by their own companies and have their own privacy policies. If you turn on the iPad setting that shares analytics with app developers, Apple may give me anonymous, combined crash and usage statistics. I cannot identify you from them.
5. Children
The app has no accounts and no online features, and it collects no information from anyone, including children. If you use the app with students, follow your school’s own policies about student files.
6. Keeping and deleting your data
Your library and markings are yours. Deleting the app removes the app’s own copy of your library, markings and settings. Parts, markings and settings saved in a folder you chose in the Files app, including iCloud Drive, stay in that folder until you delete them there.
7. Changes
If this policy changes, I will update the date at the top. If you keep using the app after a change, you accept the updated policy.
